Japanese playstation Internal Section (SLPS-01868)
Internal Section is one of the underraated video games, but is well known in those who are familiar with the Japanese Import Video Game scene. It reminds me a little like a variation of Atari's Tempest game. Some call it a "Tube Shooter". Whatever you label it, it is a great game and is hard to find. The game uses a flat shaded, untextured polygons to keep a high frame rate in the PlayStation's high resolution mode. Players have access to twelve different weapons, each named after a sign of the Chinese Zodiac. The in-game soundtrack is techno, and much like SCEI's Vib Ribbon, IS can dynamically change the environments based off of music CDs in certain modes. The game is very similar in terms of gameplay and style to Rez, and actually was released nearly 3 years earlier
