Nintendo SNES Games
"Another obscure SNES title that deserves a second look...or perhaps a first."
Jaleco really had a winner with this game. Super Earth Defense Force, EDF, is my favorite shooter of all time. I don't remember how I acquired the game, but the experience has lasted with me through my lifetime and I often compare other shooters to Super EDF, even newer games. Let's tackle this one head on.
Graphics: 10 out of 10 Superb, absolutely superb, from every little ship, to every large ship, to every gigantic boss, to every background/foreground. This game is fantastic graphically for it's time. The scaling is awesome. The very first stage gives you a taste of whats to come, and yes, it only gets better. The 4th stage I believe you actually do a fly by next a giant battle cruiser. Each stage has a end boss, most stages have a mini boss, all are very detailed. The end bosses actually have 2 stages, they go from no damage, to damaged, to dead. Nice little touch to show damage.

Earth Defense Force is a rare game that is a well known but should be tried and that is getting much harder to find anymore. I do have a copy on my web site.
